IMLA State League Department Interest Form
IMLA is soliciting Interest Forms from state league/association counsel who are interested in serving as a part of the IMLA State League Department. The purpose of this Interest Form is to develop a pool of interested attorneys. Submitting this interest form does not mean you will be selected for an officer position, but it does mean that you will be considered.
General Information
The IMLA State League Department consists of a Board Liaison, Chair, Vice Chair, and Recorder. Members of the Department move up through the ranks and serve two-year terms in each position, starting as Recorder, then Vice Chair, then Chair, then State League Board Liaison. The Board Liaison serves on IMLA’s Board of Directors for two years pursuant to IMLA’s by-laws in the same manner as IMLA’s elected Board of Directors.
Duties
The four State League Department officers should be able to travel to IMLA’s annual conference and mid-year Seminar each year and will help plan the content for the state league meeting at each event. Additionally, the officers are responsible for providing guidance to IMLA’s Executive Director on how best to maintain relationships with state leagues. And the Board Liaison will provide guidance and input into IMLA’s governance as a member of the governing body. In addition to the foregoing, the Chair presides over the two in-person meetings each year.
