PFAS & Products Liability Law: How Cities are Securing Funding Through Litigation & Settlements with Polluters

This webinar will provide an overview of how legal action against polluting chemical manufacturers is providing significant funding for municipalities nationwide. Ken Sansone will first provide a brief update on the state and federal regulatory landscape for PFAS in drinking water, wastewater, and biosolids, focusing on current and anticipated costs for local governments. Then, Ken will discuss how municipalities affected by contamination have used and are using products liability law to pursue legal action against the manufacturers responsible for pollution. Ken will explain the full legal process used in cases that recently led to multibillion-dollar settlements for U.S. public drinking water providers, and how cities impacted by PFAS contamination in soil and wastewater are now seeking funding through the same strategies.
