Live Seminar Cancelled - We will proceed with a virtual event.

IMLA's 2020 Mid-Year Seminar has been rescheduled for April 20-24, 2020.

This event will be hosted entirely online and will take place as half days on the dates listed above. Please take a look at the Program tab to see the sessions we are offering and the registration tab to get signed up!

IMLA discussed the question of whether we could hold our Seminar at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in DC in late April. Based on the advice of CDC and the evolving efforts, both national and within Washington DC, to control social distancing to minimize community spread of the virus, we have agreed to cancel the on-site program. IMLA is actively working to replicate the sessions through webinars in much the same manner as law schools are embracing distance learning options. We hope you will work with us and participate in professional development opportunities through our distance learning options to help increase your practice skills and also help minimize the impact on IMLA. We are working quickly to formulate a reduced rate for a virtual Seminar given that our costs will be reduced. As we are inundated with requests from members regarding the coronavirus issues, please hold off on asking for refunds or cancellations until we are able to formulate a plan to move the seminar to a virtual program and get more information out to you regarding those plans.

The Omni Shoreham advises us that it will cancel rooms booked within our room block and that guests will not need to contact the hotel. If you booked within the IMLA block, you should confirm cancellation with the hotel in a couple of weeks but at least a week before the reservation check to be certain the reservation has been cancelled. Some of you may have booked outside the block and will need to cancel your rooms if you can. Third party providers may have different cancellation policies and those may make it much more difficult to cancel. If you intend to come to DC anyway and want to maintain your reservation, you should contact the hotel.Please stay tuned to our eblasts and website for more information about the steps we are taking and that you can take to replicate the Seminar through a distance learning option. We hope to make it educational and add some fun into the process.
