Registration Forms for the Conference and for the October 20th Code Enforcement Program are now available. If you register for both, you will receive a discount on the Code Enforcement registration form. All forms are available on the top left of this page under "2012 Conference Quick Links."
The Annual Conference will occur from Sunday, October 21st - Wednesday, October 24th, 2012. Remember, there are other programs available on the day before, Saturday October 20th. These "add-on" programs (Code Enforcement AND the Institute for Local Government Lawyers) require you to fill out a separate registration form and a separate fee.

HOTEL AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
The official Conference Hotel is the Hilton Austin. The Hilton Austin hotel is located in downtown Austin and features a Health Club & Spa and is only one block from Austin's famous Sixth Street nightlife and a short stroll to the entertainment, shopping and dining in the Warehouse Entertainment District and 2nd Street District . It is convenience to many attractions such as the Capitol Building , Bob Bullock Texas Historical Museum and the LBJ Presidential Library. The Hilton is only seven miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
The IMLA Conference Room Rate is $199/night. Make your Hilton Austin reservations today by going to the IMLA-specific Hilton webpage. You can also call Hilton's Central Reservations number at 1-800-236-1592 and reference group code MLA to receive the special $199 room rate.
In order to secure this block of specially priced sleeping rooms and to keep meeting costs to a minimum, IMLA has entered into a total meeting package and contract with the Hilton Austin Hotel. If you choose to make your sleeping room reservations outside the IMLA group block, such as through an Internet reservation system or with a discount coupon, IMLA could suffer significant financial penalties. IMLA can be held financially responsible for the attrition or difference between what was promised in the group block and what was actually utilized.

2011 Annual Conference - Chicago

Planning is underway at IMLA headquarters to make the 76th Annual Conference in Chicago the best yet! Before you register for the Conference (using the link menus on the left side of this page), please read this section for some basic guidance.
Conference Registration vs. Add-On Programming
IMLA's 76th Annual Conference officially starts at 9:00am on Sunday, September 11 and will conclude by Noon on Wednesday, September 14th. Your Conference registration includes all CLE programming on Sunday, Monday (including Canadian Department meeting), Tuesday, and Wednesday, EXCEPT the Sunday afternoon Mobile Land Use Workshop (separate registration required). Your Conference registration also includes access to our Opening Reception, which will be at Navy Pier, and our Confernece luncheons on Monday and Tuesday.
IMLA also offers "Add-On" Programming, consisting of: 1) Code Enforcement Program and 2) Institute for Local Government Lawyers. BOTH ADD-ON PROGRAMS WILL START ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th. Both these Add-On Programs require separate registration.
Hotel and Travel Information
The official Conference Hotel is the Hilton Chicago, located in the heart of Chicago at 720 South Michigan Avenue. IMLA has secured a block of sleeping rooms and a special room rate at the Hilton Chicago Hotel, a first class facility, in Chicago, IL. The IMLA room rate is $269 for a single or a double, also these rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes.

To allow IMLA to continue to provide a reasonable seminar registration fee, we need your help in limiting our financial exposure. Reservations may be made by calling the Hilton Chicago directly at (312) 922-4400 or the toll-free reservation number at 1-800-HILTONS. In order to receive the preferred room rate you must identify yourself as an International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) 2011 Annual Conference attendee, Group Code IML or to register online.
The official hotel cut-off date for making reservations is August 8, 2011, 5:00pm, EST. This is an extremely popular time of year in Chicago and hotels typically sell out. It would be in your best interest to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.
IMLA has a discounts available with Continental Airlines and Avis (see menu on left side of page for links).

The Institute for Local Government Lawyers (ILGL) is a full-day program geared towards law students, attorneys new to local government, as well as seasoned attorneys who need a “refresher” in various general topics of local government law. SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THIS PROGRAM: IF YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS TWO-DAY PROGRAM, YOUR FEE INCLUDES AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION FOR OUR MOBILE LAND USE WORKSHOP TAKING PLACE ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10th.
- St. Bernard "Voluntourism" - Working with the St. Bernard Project
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED. The St. Bernard Project is a rebuilding organization with opportunities for both skilled and unskilled volunteers. During your time with the Project, you could be doing any of the following tasks: installing exterior doors and windows, installing insulation, hanging sheetrock/drywall, taping sheetrock joints, mud/spackling, putting down flooring, installing interior door, trim and cabinets, yard work and painting. IMLA Conference Attendees can have a chance to participate with this Project on Saturday, October 9th. You will participate in orientation and get a work assignment with directions to your worksite. If you, or anyone in your group, is under 18, please have a parent or guardian sign the liability waiver either here or ahead of time if they will be unaccompanied. The Project must receive a waiver from each volunteer.
Mobile Land Use Tour - THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
PLEASE NOTE : YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET TO BOARD THE BUSES FOR THE SUNDAY MOBILE LAND USE WORKSHOP. PLEASE VISIT THE IMLA REGISTRATION DESK PRIOR TO COMING TO BOARD YOUR BUS TO OBTAIN YOUR TICKET. YOUR TICKET WILL HAVE YOUR SPECIFIC BOARDING TIME LOCATED ON THE FRONT OF THE TICKET.
For those who have already signed up and paid for this event, your bus will depart on one of the following times: 12:30pm, 1:30pm OR 2:30pm. Please note your departure time.
The buses will be waiting and loading at the second side drive entrance of the Hilton hotel main building, first floor (across from the shoe shine stand). The bus company is Hotard.
This will be a three-hour guided tour of New Orleans, with at least one scheduled stop at the St. Bernard Project. Food is not provided, so we encourage you to finish lunch before coming on board the bus.
- Annual Golf Tournament - IMLA's Annual Golf Tournament takes place this year on Sunday, October 10th - 1PM at Lakewood Country Club. CLICK HERE for registration form.
- Annual Softball Game -Tuesday, October 12 - 5PM. Join your colleagues on Tuesday afternoon for softball in New Orleans at Annunciation Park. Equipment, hats and t-shirts are provided!
